A darker set of aromas and flavors emerges from the 2013 Corton-Grèves. Spices, lavender, mint and violets wrap around a core of dark-fleshed fruit. Next to the Vigne au Saint, the Grèves has a bit more energy and overall tannic clout, both of which suggest it will need a few more years in bottle to flesh out.

The 2013 Corton Greves Grand Cru has a austere saturnine bouquet that like the Beaune Greves, is not playing game today. The palate is medium-bodied with immediate purity and sensuality, very fine tannins, extremely well balanced with a suave and silky finish. This has great potential but it will need 3 to 4 years in bottle.
