Score 92/100 · Drink 2011-2019, Jay S Miller, Wine Advocate, Oct 2009

The 2007 Pinot Noir Guadalupe Vineyard displays greater aromatic complexity. An alluring array of toast, earth, floral notes, black cherry, and plum lead to a suave, concentrated, elegant wine with plenty of depth, concentration, and savory fruit. It will benefit from another 2-3 years of cellaring and drink well through 2019. Ken Wright describes 2007 as -?a really difficult year. It challenged me to be really good at farming and to be patient?Luckily it was cool and the fruit remained intact.- All things considered, it appears that Wright performed optimally in this challenging vintage with what nature provided. Vivid red. Brooding cherry skin and dark berry aromas are complemented by hints of fresh blood and dried flowers. Juicy dark berry flavors are framed by supple tannins and provide very good palate coverage. Becomes sweeter on the finish, with the cherry and dark berry notes echoing. Shows good richness for the vintage.
