1964 Lanessan

The 1964 Lanessan comes from a half-bottle bought at Hedonism for just over forty quid. At the price, there's not much to lose. Actually, the nose is far better than expected. It shows remnants of red fruit, strong black tea scents and quite a bit of volatility. It's the volatility that is the palate's undoing. It's very sharp and slightly acetic, certainly palatable...but let's just say I was glad it came in half a bottle, not whole. Tasted at home.
