2012 Merry Edwards Pinot Noir Meredith Estate Russian River Valley

The 2012 Pinot Noir Meredith Estate, tasted from magnum, has aged well. It's a powerful, deep wine that reflects the rich, extracted style of the day in its potent, dark-toned fruit and copious new French oak. Macerated dark cherry fruit, tobacco, cedar and espresso turn up the intensity quite a bit. The 2012 is a very good wine, but I must say I prefer the current style here.
