2001 Krupp Brothers Veraison Cabernet Sauvignon Stagecoach Vineyard

Medium-deep red, with a hint of development at the rim. Rather sauvage , earthy scents of black raspberry, plum, truffle, leather, game and mocha. A fairly dry, claret-like of Cabernet, offering a touch of sweetness but also firm supporting acidity and good intensity to its dark fruit, plum and leather flavors. Not for the faint of heart, though. Turns a bit green and dusty on the back end, losing some of its texture and sweetness. But this firmly tannic wine boasts a pleasing salinity.
