Score 92/100 · Drink 2010-2020, Jay S Miller, Wine Advocate, Feb 2009

The 2005 Michael Shiraz was aged for 13 months in a mix of new and seasoned French and American oak. Dark ruby/purple-colored, the wine has an alluring perfume of black cherry, espresso, earth notes, anise, and pepper. Made in an elegant style, the wine is nearly seamless while concealing enough tannin to evolve for 2-3 years under a blanket of savory fruit. Layered, ripe, and nicely balanced, this tasty Shiraz will be at its best from 2010 to 2020. Importer: Foster Wine Estates Americas, Napa, CA; tel. (707) 259-4500
