Tasting notes
The 2016 Fleurie is more expressive than its youthful 2017 sibling, offering up a complex bouquet of sweet cherries, dark chocolate, raspberry preserve and wood smoke. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated, with a supple, giving, even open-knit profile by Coudert's standards. Another couple of years will still be to its advantage, however.

Brilliant ruby-red. Intense, mineral-accented red and dark berry aromas pick up a sexy floral quality with air. Concentrated yet lively, offering juicy raspberry, bitter cherry and blood orange flavors that show excellent clarity and back-end thrust. Shows a touch of candied licorice on the gently tannic finish, which lingers with outstanding persistence.
