Score 87/100 · Drink 2002-2012, Robert Parker, Aug 2002
The 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals some of the vintage's austere tannin along with medium body, and a nice entry displaying notions of cassis, fudge, tobacco, and smoke. The medium-bodied finish is slightly pinched. Drink this very good effort over the next decade. Tel. (800) 355-8008; fax (800) 600-5895

Bright ruby-red. Aromas of cassis, minerals, bitter chocolate, graphite and cedar; less expressive than the '99 merlot but pure and lively. Dense and firmly structured, with nicely concentrated, well-defined black fruit flavors. Finishes with ripe, firm tannins and very good persistence.
