Score 87/100 · Drink 2006-2011, Pierre Rovani, Jun 2006
The 2003 Pinot Noir Elizabeth’s Reserve bursts from the glass with waxy black cherries, Asian spices, and hints of licorice. Concentrated and powerful, its black fruit-dominated core reveals some metallic shaving influences as well as a slight bitterness in its tannin. Drink it over the next 4-5 years. www.adelsheim.com; tel. (503) 538-3652

Deep, bright red. Expressive dark cherry and smoked meat aromas with a suggestion of dark chocolate. Silky, juicy and fresh on the palate, the strong cherry note repeating. Shows good density but no excess weight; finishes with a lifted, floral, even minty tone and an exotic hint of Szechuan peppercorn.
