Tasting notes
From a deep gravelly site and pouring a black/red hue, the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Monolith offers a deeper and darker, concentrated profile with aromas of tarry earth, black plum, espresso, and cigar box. Full-bodied and plush, with a more velvety tannins, it has a very polished and approachable feel now, and while it’s brooding on the nose, it’s quite enjoyable and long on the palate. This lovely wine is going to drink well over the next 20 years. Stonestreet Estate focuses on the high elevation vineyards in the Alexander Valley. The estate is part of the Jackson Family, having been founded in 1995 by Barbara Banke and Jess Stonestreet Jackson. Today, winemaker Kristina Shideler leads the production, having re-joined the team after taking her first lead winemaker roll at Arrowood Winery in 2015.
