Score 89/100 · Drink 2006-2018, Robert Parker, Apr 2006
The 2003 is a dense, corpulent effort with a dark ruby/purple color, impressive intensity, and aromas of charcoal, white flowers, blueberries, black currants, and smoke. Medium-bodied, with light tannin, and serious concentration as well as length, it may merit an even higher score than shown. Anticipated maturity: now-2018.

Deep but healthy crimson. Sweet, simple and overripe on the nose. Overdone. Plums verging on prunes. Not enough refreshment value. (JR)
