Score 91+/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, May 2010
(includes 12% grenache and 2% viognier) Inky ruby. Medicinal black fruits, apricot, licorice and a smoky nuance on the nose and palate. Dense and smooth but youthfully imploded now, with the medicinal quality carrying through in the mouth. The intense spice and floral qualities come forward with air but this structured wine needs patience. Finishes with dusty tannins and lingering suggestions of exotic flowers and spices.
