Tasting notes
Year in year out Isole e Olena's Chianti Classico is one of my favorite wines of the region. The 2004 presents attractive aromatics and plenty of clean, focused fruit along with varietal tobacco, herb and earthy notes. Its excellent balance, fine tannins and accessible personality make it a highly enjoyable wine to drink now and over the next five or so years.

About the producer

Situated north of Castellina, on the western side of Chianti Classico, Isole e Olena was created by the De Marchi family in the 1950s and has since become one of the region’s leading names. It is renowned for its top bottling Cepparello, a pure Sangiovese, as well as its brilliant Chardonnay.
