Tasting notes
The 2017 Syrah Oregon is perfumed with lavender, scorched granitic earth, olive, and pepper. The palate is ripe and balanced, with a present tannic structure, revealing notes of blackberry fruit, turned earth, and dried flowers. Allow this another year or two to soften a bit and drink 2024-2034. Since 2013, winemaker Josh Bergstrom (of Bergstrom Wines) has been selecting from vineyard sites dedicated to Syrah in Oregon, California, and Washington to produce his Gargantua wines.

Aromas of stewed black cherries, grilled herbs, porcini mushrooms, paprika and herbs. Itâs medium-bodied with firm, chewy tannins. Structured and toned, yet fresh and vibrant. Tannic and caressing at the same time. Try from 2022.
