Score 90/100 · Drink 2006-2013, Robert Parker, Dec 2005

Aromas of flowers, strawberries, black cherries, and rose petals waft from the glass of the medium dark ruby-hued 2003 Pinot Noir Rochioli River Block Vineyard. While it boasts noble grand cru-like aromatics (flowers, raspberries, cherries, and crushed rocks), the wine is reserved in the mouth, suggesting 1-2 years of bottle age will be beneficial. It should keep for 7-8 years. Tel. (707) 433-6425; Fax (707) 433-6546

Good medium-deep red. Spicy, high-toned aromas of plum and earth. Full, broad and dry, with slightly edgy flavors of spices, humus and tobacco. Not especially sweet or fruit-driven. Finishes with substantial oakiness and slightly drying tannins.
