Tasting notes
Tasted but no note provided. Craig and Claudia Broadley – whose son Morgan now works alongside – arrived in Oregon from Berkeley on a Pinot-growing mission more than three decades ago, and their production still originates largely in their own vineyard in Monroe, roughly midway between Corvalis and Eugene (though they also vinify inter alia a share of Shea). I tasted only a few of their wines as samples this spring. Tel. (541) 847-5934; www.broadleyvineyards.com

Dark red. Initially a bit sullen on the nose but opened to show deep cherry and tobacco aromas, with a distinct espresso note. Thick in the mouth and heavy on the oak spices, with a strong cherry note that's a bit muted by the oak tones. Rich and full but needs air to express its fruit.
