Revana's 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Round Pond Vineyard is faithful to its Rutherford roots, yielding up appealing notes of black cherries, cassis, dusty earth and even a subtle hint of mint. This is full-bodied, lush, really seductive stuff yet with a firm core of acid and tannins in support, with a long, velvety finish. Consulting winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown shows his magic touch once again.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is plush, open-knit and wonderfully inviting. Silky tannins and soft contours make the 2018 an absolute delight to taste today. All the elements are so well balanced. This is such a gorgeous wine. Best of all, the Estate is a terrific value in high end Napa Valley Cabernet.
While not yet bottled, I still loved the nose on the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate and this beauty offers up a high-class bouquet of blackcurrants, toasty oak, graphite, cedar pencil, and smoked tobacco. Rich, full-bodied, and beautifully textured on the palate, it has ripe, polished tannins, a fleshy, expansive mouthfeel, and a great finish. This is a terrific, impossible to resist Napa Cabernet in the making that will drink well on release and evolve for 10-15 years.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is the first vintage that incorporates fruit from both the Round Pond Estate and a dollop from Mbar Ranch in Oakville. It is elegant and gracious, with tons of class and lovely red fruit purity. The Estate bottling replaces the Rutherford Cabernet in the range.
