Tasting notes
The 2020 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 43 is a darker, earthy effort, yet has similar mulled red and black fruits, some iron and gamey, minerally nuances, medium body, good acidity and structure, a great finish. It's a little muddled aromatically, yet I love the palate, and I suspect it will come together nicely with a year of bottle age. I surprisingly found a few of these latest Pinot Noirs from Foxen to be muddled and overtly earthy. Nevertheless, it’s big lineup of wines and there’s lot to like and choose from.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard Block 43 is another bold, racy Pinot from Foxen. Dijon clones (667 and 777) yield a Pinot with tons of structure to play off its red-fruit leaning. I would cellar this for a few years, as the tannins are quite imposing at this stage. Hints of white pepper, chalk, mint and crushed rocks lend savory intensity throughout.
