2014 Efeste Syrah Red Willow Vineyard Eleni

(made without stems): Dark medium ruby. Aromas of black fruits and licorice are initially unforthcoming and a bit stunted, but hints of white fruits and violet emerge with aeration. Similarly clenched on the palate, with black fruit, anise and lavender flavors communicating a slightly medicinal aspect. Quite concentrated and primary but a bit youthfully disjointed. Finishes with serious dusty tannins. This dense wine should improve with cellaring.
