Score 86/100 · Drink 2022-2030, Lisa Perrotti-Brown MW, Wine Advocate, Nov 2021
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain District is a blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 4% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, the nose offers muted notes of baked blackcurrants, blackberry preserves and spice cake, with hints of new leather, tar, tobacco and wild sage. Full-bodied, while there's a nice core of black fruit here, the palate is slightly rustic with a chewy texture and charry finish.

An intense, ripe red with notes of blackberries, blueberries, licorice and wet earth. Baking soda and some menthol, too. Full-bodied with bright acidity, chewy tannins and a fruity finish. Needs time to come together. Try after 2023.
