Deep red-ruby. Rather reduced aromas of peppery spices and musky chocolatey oak. Lush, sweet, large-scaled and deep, with a wonderfully vibrant, deep core of red berry, spice and mineral flavors and broad, fine-grained tannins. This really saturates the palate with dusty extract. Even deeper than Magnien's powerful Latricieres, but the wine's fruit is still somewhat muted by reduction.

Very scented and high toned. Lovely lift. Again, doesn't seem streets ahead of some of his Premier Crus though. Great persistence. Quite thick and slightly chewy on the end. (JR)
Red-ruby. Wild, reduced nose dominated by black raspberry. Densely packed and creamy-sweet; this boasts uncanny concentration without any loss of freshness or elegance. Perhaps most impressive today on the huge, mounting, tactile finish, which features big but noble tannins and great lingering sweetness. Magnien vinified only the tiny millerande grapes, declassifying the rest of the fruit into his other Gevrey cuvees This will need extended bottle aging.
