What can be thought of as the flagship cuvée from Xavier, the 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape Cuvée Anonyme is based on 60% Grenache, 15% Mourvèdre, 10% Syrah, and the remainder a smattering of other varieties. A deep ruby/plum-hued 2020, it has a wonderful array of red and black fruits supported by ample cedary garrigue, pepper, and spice. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, rounded, textured barrel sample with remarkable purity, top notch tannins, and a great finish. It's up with the crème de la crème in the vintage.
