Tasting notes
La Valentina's 2003 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Binomio shimmers on the palate where it reveals beautiful ripe dark fruit, earthiness, herbs and sweet toasted oak. This soft, supple beauty offers superb balance as well as clarity. It should continue to drink well for another decade. The Binomio is made from the estate's oldest vines. It saw 35 days of fermentation in open-top vats, after which is was racked in French oak barrels where it underwent malolactic fermentation and aged for 15 months prior to being bottled.
