Score 96/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2011
A brilliant Syrah and the most rich and dense of the trio, the 2009 Lewis Cellars Syrah displays an inky purple color to go with knockout aromatics of black currant, blackberry, lavender, toasty oak, underbrush, and crushed flowers on the nose. Incredibly intense, yet classy and almost elegant on the palate, this full-bodied, blockbuster Syrah deliver a thrilling texture, gorgeous purity of fruit, perfect balance, and a long, classically styled finish. There's no fluff here and this possesses solid underlying structure and depth; while approachable now, this will be even better in 2-3 years, and drink well for a decade after that.
