Tasting notes
The 2007 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast reveals beautiful spicy, earthy, peppery notes intermixed with pomegranate, black cherry, plum, and allspice. Firm tannins underlie all the fruit in this medium to full-bodied, nicely-structured Pinot. It will benefit from another 12-18 months of bottle age, and should drink well for a decade thereafter. Another story of a successful transformation of professions, in this case from Wall Street to the vineyard, Kutch Wines’ dynamic young proprietor, Jamie Kutch, appears to be producing better wines with each new vintage. While we will not see much from him in 2008 (given the smoke taint that affected some of his wines), these 2007 Pinot Noirs are his finest efforts to date. Tel. (917) 270-8180
