Deep garnet colored with a faint hint of brick, the 2007 Dancing Bear Ranch Proprietary Red needs a little swirling to get those gorgeous black cherry, cassis and blackberry pie notes going, and with coaxing it goes on to reveal hints of dried sage, mulberries, fragrant earth and unsmoked cigars plus a waft of ceps. Full-bodied and laden with savory and black fruit layers, it has a solid, grainy frame and a long , earth-laced finish.
