From a combination of old-vine Australian Shiraz and Northern Rhone clones, the 2008 Darioush Shiraz Napa Valley, age for 18 months in new French oak, boast full, lush aromatics of smoked blackberries, crème de cassis, violets, ripe tobacco, and meaty nuances on the nose. Lavishly textured and soft on the palate, with no hard edges, a full-bodied, decadent texture, and ample length on the finish, this blockbuster styled Shiraz is straight up delicious and has a gulpable, hard to put down profile. While superb now, it should continue to drink brilliantly for 7-8 years, if not longer.

The dense purple-hued 2008 Shiraz Signature reveals a beautiful nose of spring flowers intermixed with blueberries, blackberries, spice and incense. Glorious richness, full-bodied opulence and a majestic, long finish result in one of the best Napa Valley Syrahs money can buy. It should drink well for 6-10 years.
