Tasting notes
Deep garnet colored, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Yountville Selection needs a fair bit of swirling and coaxing to reveal notes of Black Forest cake, blackberry preserves and crème de cassis with underlying hints of chargrill, black truffles, bay leaves and tobacco plus a waft of tree bark. Full-bodied, the richly fruited palate has loads of herbal accents to enliven, with a firm, grainy texture and bold freshness, finishing long and earthy.

The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Yountville Selection emerges from the glass with terrific energy and polish. It possesses layers of expressive dark fruit, gorgeous inner perfume and plenty of harmony in a medium-bodied style that is quite pretty. Floral, spicy notes add life and sensuality on the silky finish.
