Tasting notes
This wine has a bright, medium-to-dark ruby color and a profound nose of jammy black cherries immersed in a spicy veal demi-glace. It explodes on the palate with copious ripe red and black fruit, Asian spices, perfume, and toasted oak. This superb wine is oily-textured, full-bodied, muscular, chewy, and yet highly-defined and sublimely elegant. Its prodigiously long finish reveals a firm backbone tightly packed with supple and round tannins. Anticipated maturity: 2004-2010. Importer: Neal Rosenthal, Select Vineyards, Shekomeko, NY; tel. (800) 910-1990.
