Score 89/100 · Drink 2010-2017, Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate, Dec 2009
The 2005 Rosé Millésimé is a big, rich, boisterous wine packed with super-ripe fruit. In 2005, this rosé comes across as a touch heavy and overripe with limited freshness, although with time in the glass the wine finds better balance and a measure of focus. This bottle was disgorged on February 5, 2009. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2017. These new releases from Deutz are all recommended, but I found the wines required quite a bit of air to show at their finest. All of the Deutz Champagnes undergo malolactic fermentation, which contributes to the wines’ expansive, rich textures. Importer: Maisons Marques & Domaines USA, Inc., Oakland, CA; tel. (510) 587-2000
