Score 98/100 · Drink 2027-2040, Jeb Dunnuck, Jul 2025
Pouring a slightly deeper straw yellow hue, the 2023 La Proportion Doree was built to age. It comes from 30-year-old dry farmed vines and is a blend of 63% Semillon, 36% Sauvignon Blanc, and a tiny splash of Mucadelle that was barrel fermented. The nose has more depth and a savory feel, with notes of beeswax, salted pineapple, wet stones, white peach, and quince. It’s full-bodied but light on its feet, with a fantastic, seamless, mouthwatering feel and elegant hints of creamy spices on the finish. It’s long on the palate and is going to only improve with another few years in bottle. Hide this one away, although it’s fantastic now. Drink 2027-2040.
