Tasting notes
The proprietary red wine called Trilogy is a blend of approximately 43% Cabernet Sauvignon, 42% Merlot, and 15% Cabernet Franc, proportions that are reminiscent of the famed Pauillac, Pichon-Lalande. The last three vintages are all impressive wines. The 1994 Trilogy (2,000 cases) exhibits rich, ripe fruit, along with some toasty vanillin and sweet, jammy black fruits scents. Fleshy, harmonious, full-bodied flavors reveal admirable extract and cleanliness. Despite its softness, this impressive wine is unformed, so give it 2-3 years of cellaring; it will age for two decades or more. Flora Springs, one of the largest vineyard owners in Napa Valley, estate bottles only a fraction of their production, with the bulk of their wine production being sold to other wineries. This estate has had a strong run of top wines over the last 4-5 years. Tel. (707) 963-5711; Fax (707) 963-7518
