Score 87/100 · Drink 2018-2028, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Mar 2017
The 2014 Todeschini was noticeably deep in color compared to its peers. The nose is very powerful with some warmth of alcohol that detracts from its delineation. The palate is full-bodied with grippy tannin, heady and decadent, and yet without the sophistication and nuance of the regular bottling that feels fresher and more energetic. This just wants to impress you rather than give drinking pleasure, therefore I much prefer the 2014 Mangot.
