Tasting notes
Good quality, tight tannins at four years old, the architecture is pulled together with fresh acidities on the finish, but there is plenty of concentration through the mid palate, with bilberry and raspberry fruit. Enjoyable, a little trace of heat and tar, but it is well balanced. Miguel Martinho owner (also owner of Château Martinho in Listrac), coming from a career renting out vineyard equipment, and it's one to look out for, low temperature fermentation, gentle extractions, emphasis on floral character.

Lots of spicy red and black fruits, loamy soil, and sandalwood notes emerge from the 2020 Château Larruau Margaux, a medium-bodied, nicely textured, savory, character-filled effort with some chewy tannins that give me pause.
