Score 97/100 · Drink 2022-2030, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Dec 2022
The 2020 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict comes from the old vines planted in 1972. It has a pale ruby color and scents of sour cherries, woodsmoke, tea leaves, iron and Angostura bitters. The medium-bodied palate is chalky and fresh with notably transparent, detailed fruit expression and a long finish with a complex sweep of bitters character.

The 2020 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict is an undeniably attractive wine. Bright floral and savory accents lift a core of red/purplish fruit, with hints of mint, spice and rose petal that emerge over time. All that said, I wish there was more depth and overall intensity, both of which this site can deliver in spades.
