Tasting notes
The 1995 Zinfandel Whitney Tennessee Vineyard (16.5% alcohol, from a vineyard planted in 1898) exhibits a dense black/ruby color, followed by a sensational sweet, pure, black-cherry, raspberry, mineral, and peppery-scented nose. Full-bodied, with copious quantities of fruit, glycerin, and extract, this wine is a blockbuster Zinfandel that manages to conceal its exceptionally high alcohol. Mouthfilling, with multiple layers, and a sensationally complex, four-dimensional personality. The finish, which lasts for over 30 seconds, is explosive. I would opt for drinking this Zinfandel over the next 5-8 years, as one of the Turley's 1995s are more forward than the 1994s. Amazing! The 1995 Zinfandels are the products of extraordinary vineyards and genius winemaking - no doubt about it. Tel. (707) 963-0940

The 1995 Zinfandel Whitney Vineyard (from a vineyard planted in 1898) exhibits an opaque black/ruby color, followed by a sensational sweet, pure, black-cherry, mineral, and peppery-scented nose. Full-bodied, with gobs of fruit, glycerin, and extract, the wine's blockbuster power (16.1% alcohol) is well-concealed beneath the exceptional level of fruit. This mouthfilling, intense Zinfandel should drink well for 12+ years. These are Zinfandels of such singular character and greatness that they truly establish new benchmarks for this varietal. Readers' best hope of latching onto a few bottles is to get their name on the winery's mailing list. (release date, 5/97) Tel. (707) 963-0940; Fax (707) 963-963-8683
