2013 Lancaster Estate Sophia's Hillside Cuvée

The 2013 Sophia’s Hillside Cuvée is a proprietary red blend of 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Malbec and Merlot. This is a beautiful deep, dark, broodingly backward wine with an opaque plum/purple color, sweet cassis, licorice, forest floor and camphor. Full-bodied and rich with surprisingly sweet tannin, given the highly concentrated personality of this wine, this is a beauty and exceptionally well-made. This is a showcase for Alexander Valley’s fruit quality. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.
