Score 95/100 · Drink 2018-2038, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2018
The 2015 Cornas Brise Cailloux is just brilliant stuff and quite possibly the finest vintage of this cuvée I’ve tasted. Loaded with notions of black raspberries, spring flowers, incense and bay leaf, it hits the palate with full-bodied richness, a light, graceful, elegant texture, sweet tannin, and a blockbuster finish. It's a ripe, sexy Cornas that stays graceful and balanced, and is already hard to resist. It will keep for two decades. The wines from Matthieu Barret represent a classic, old-school, wild style of wine that I absolutely love. These see little to no destemming, aging in old barrels, and never lack for character. His 2015s are blockbuster wines!
