Tasting notes
The 2013 Pinot Noir Georganne Vineyard comes from a vineyard on Westside Road and is planted with Merry Edward’s favorite clone of Pinot Noir, UCD 37. Slightly more earthy and large-boned than her other cuvées, the wine is tannic, firm and Pommard-like in its masculinity muscle. There is a lot going on, with plenty of black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, underlying earthiness and spice. Forget this for several years and drink it over the following 15 years. This could be her Pommard Premier Cru from the Russian River.

The 2013 Pinot Noir Georganne is one of the most complete wines in this range. Sweet, pliant and beautifully expressive, the 2013 possesses terrific balance and tons of sheer appeal. Sweet plum, cola, spice, new oak and leather are all super-expressive. Drink this juicy Pinot over the next handful of years. All the classic Merry Edwards signatures are found here.
