Tasting notes
Coming from north of Chassis and closer to Hermitage, the 2022 Crozes-Ermitage Le Grand Courtil reveals black raspberries, red plums, blackberries, spice, and leather, with an almost granite-like sense of minerality and dried flower nuances. Medium to full-bodied, pure, and seamless on the palate, this balanced, elegant release will drink nicely for a decade. Drink 2025-2035.

Crafted from the first vines planted by Michel Ferraton in the late 1970s, located in the western part of the appellation in the commune of Mercurol, the 2022 Crozes-Ermitage Le Grand Courtil is particularly impressive. It offers up aromas of violet, mulberries, dark berries and spices. Medium to full-bodied, layered and precise, it's pure and clean with a fleshy, textural core of fruit and bright acids that infuse energy into an ethereal, fresh and beautifully licorice-tinged finish. Matured for 12 months in a combination of concrete tanks, barrels and large barrels, this is a stunning effort.
