Score 96/100 · Drink 2015-2028, Luis Gutiérrez, Wine Advocate, Aug 2015

The 2013 Jubileus is a really explosive, mostly Malbec wine with a pinch of Cabernet Franc. The nose has violets and lilies plus plenty of aromatic herbs making it smell like the countryside in spring. It is an expression of Gualtallary through Malbec with aromas of pink pepper (a tree that is ubiquitous in Mendoza), wet chalk, some fruit and perhaps a bit of spices. The palate is incredibly silky and is vibrant with tension, acidity and a great depth of flavors along with gobsmacking balance. It finishes straightforward, long and fresh. Jubileus and La Craie are just different plots of the same vineyard in Gualtallary at some 1,300 meters altitude. This wine is delicious now, but with its balance and stuffing it should last a long time. The wine fermented in closed barrels that were rolled on the floor. I just couldn’t stop smelling this wine. It is intense, aromatic, focused... simply superb. Very fairly priced. Again, only 800 bottles were produced.
