51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot. Bright mid crimson. Heady nose and rich and rather oaky on the nose. Sour start. Very dry on the end and a slight lack of fruit in the middle but certainly dramatic. Sour end. (JR)

The 2016 Chateau Peyrat-Fourthon has a satisfying, well defined bouquet with melted tar and just a hint of dark chocolate neatly suffusing the black fruit. The palate is fresh and vibrant on the entry, crisp and well defined, maybe a little conservative but it deserves a hearty applause for the freshness and vibrancy conveyed on the finish.
