Score 92-94/100 · Jeb Dunnuck, Dec 2019
The 2018 Côte Rôtie Promesse showed beautifully, with a full-bodied, plush, opulent style as well as loads of gorgeous Côte Rôtie sweet fruit, flowers, and spice. Soft, fleshy, and already approachable, it's going to be ready to go right out of the gate. This tiny estate in Condrieu includes 4.7 hectares in Condrieu, 5 hectares in Saint Joseph, and 3.9 hectares in Côte Rôtie. The wines are consistently outstanding, and they’ve made brilliant wines in both 2017 and 2018.

Aged for 14 months in oak (80% new). Cask sample. Tasted blind. Silky texture, ripe black fruit, understated and peppery to finish. Perhaps a little on the generic side. (RH)
