Score 85/100 · Drink 1995-2015, Robert Parker, Aug 1995
The Beaune Les Marconnets is a severe, austere, harsh wine that may dry out after 5-6 years. It will certainly last for two decades, but just how enjoyable it will become is debatable. All Mademoiselle Choppin's 1993 should turn out to be very good red burgundies. Furthermore, they are among the most modestly priced wines of the region. Unlike her more flattering 1992s, the 1993s require 3-5 years of cellaring. They possess fine color saturation, good body, very good to excellent flavor extraction, and the vintage's tell-tale, hard tannic structure. Importer: Robert Kacher Selections, Washington, DC; tel.
