Tasting notes
The Barbaresco Riserva Asili is soft, round and supple, with gorgeous depth and plenty of resonance. I expect that the 1997 will continue to age gracefully given the sheer depth of its fruit, although the aromatics are a bit forward.

Good full red. Reticent nose hints at red fruits and chocolate. Silky and bright but backward; deceptively lean in the middle, then considerably richer on the end. Juicy flavors of strawberry, raspberry and tobacco emerged with aeration. Finishes very persistent, with building, noble tannins and a late note of red cherry.
