Tasting notes
Lots of cool climate dark berry fruits, mint, flowers, and peppered game notes emerge from the 2016 Syrah Coastview Vineyard, yet it hits the palate with plenty of rich, sweet fruit and opulence. Possessing ripe tannins, a round, elegant texture, high yet integrated acidity, and a great finish, it's a beautiful Syrah from this team that's already hard to resist (it benefits from air) yet has a solid 10-12 years of longevity ahead of it.

The 2016 Syrah Coastview Vineyard - Terraces is bright, finely cut and absolutely impeccable. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice and mint all grace this attractive, mid-weight Syrah. The 64% whole clusters add a good bit of aromatic complexity without overpowering the wine. The Terraces offers a slightly darker fruit profile, bright acids and a bit more structure than the straight Coastview Syrah. It is such a gorgeous, expressive wine.
The 2016 Syrah Coastview Vineyard is a gorgeous wine. Aromatically intense, the 2016 exudes tremendous fruit intensity. The 2016 was done with 100% whole clusters, foot-tread, in a northern Rhone-inspired style that is becoming all the rage in California these days. There is so much potential here.
