Tasting notes
My favorite of the three Chardonnays, the 2017 Chardonnay Gap's Crown Vineyard comes from a terrific site on the Sonoma Coast. It offers classic white flowers, stone fruits, crushed rocks, sappy herbs, and minty aromas and flavors. Rounded, supple, medium to full-bodied, and beautifully balanced, it's the most complete, nuanced, layered wine in the lineup.

The 2017 Chardonnay Gap's Crown Vineyard is bold and racy in the glass, with plenty of white orchard fruit, mint and floral character. Airy and light on its feet, the 2017 nevertheless is loaded with character. The new oak needs time to fully integrate so I would cellar the 2017 for another year or two.
The 2017 Chardonnay Gap's Crown Vineyard has an open nose of lime peel, Golden Delicious apple, spring honey, white peach, stone and slivered almonds. Medium-bodied, it fills the mouth with pure fruits and honeyed accents, with great tangy acidity energizing the long, layered finish. 250 cases produced.
