Tasting notes
The 2021 Santenay Les Vignes Denses is one of the more structured wines in the range, unwinding in the glass with notes of peach, white flowers, orange oil and buttery pastry. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and youthfully taught, with brisk acids and chalky structuring extract, it concludes with a saline finish.

The 2021 Santenay "Les Vignes Denses", from vines planted at 14,000 per hectare, has a fragrant nose with lime, Granny Smiths, freshly sliced pear and light stony aromas. It unfurls nicely in the glass. The palate is well balanced with more acidity and tension than the Beaurepaire, linear and quite strict with a touch of ginger on the grippy finish. Fine matière here, though it deserves two or three years in bottle.
