Tasting notes
Green gold. Very expressive nose and opulent, broad, fruit-dominated palate. This is surely at its peak. Rafa loves this. Proof there is no hurry to drink even this level of wine from this producer – although can you keep your hands off it for long enough? Impressively persistent. According to Wine-Searcher, you can find this in Valencia for less than €15. VGV (JR)

Made from two indigenous grapes from Spain, aged five months in foudre, this blend of 92% Godello and 8% Treixadura, all from schist and granite soils and it's no surprise there’s plenty of crushed rocks, white currants and fresh citrus in this light to medium-bodied, but intensely styled wine. This is a quite attractive, dry white to drink over the next 12-18 months.
Bottled April 2015. Orange blossom, lemon curd, spice and subtle flashes of hoppy bitterness. Really attractive oak character, and there’s a lovely pithy peach fuzz to the finish. (RH)
