The La Spinetta 2017 Barbera d'Asti Superiore Ca' di Pian shows dark intensity and richness, giving you a lot of balanced fruit and power at a very attractive price point. This wine opens to an almost impenetrable appearance with aromas of blackberry, dried cherry and plum. It ages in barrique for 12 months, and this imparts light tones of smoke and spice. Fruit is sourced from various sites (Castagnole Lange, Costigliole d'Asti and Montegrosso) with vines that range from 10 to 50 years old. Some 90,000 bottles were released.
